Independence Takes Its 109 Game Win Streak On The Road

For only the second time in its 109-game win streak Independence will venture outside of North Carolina looking for a win. The 7-time defending state champs will take-on Elder from Cincinnati Saturday night in the Ohio Vs. USA Challenge III. The only time that Independence has played outside of the Tar Heel State during its win streak was in 2003 when it won at Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Independence D-Lights In 109th Straight Win

Independence's defense rocked Olympic for five interceptions and 26 yards rushing as the Patriots rolled to their 109th straight win Friday night 36-0. Offensively, the Charlotte school was led by West Charlotte transfer Rod Chisholm, who carried the ball for 162 yards and four scores.

Butler Lives-up To Pre-Season Hype

Is Butler worthy of its #25 ranking by Sports Illustrated? Just ask North Mecklenburg players.

The Bulldogs crushed North Meck 48-14 Friday behind the strong arm of senior quarterback Jacob Charest, who threw the ball all over the yard for 359-yards and three scores. Charest also rushed for two scores.

Independence 108 And Counting?

The Independence Patriots open their 2007 North Carolina high school football season tonight against Olympic. At the end of the night, the Pats' nation's best win streak should stand at 109 straight. Can the Charlotte team catch DeLaSalle's incredible win streak of 151-games? Well it will take almost three years before we know the answer.
