North Carolina High School Football Huddle

For only the third time since 1999, Independence has suffered a loss at home.

Friday night, Mallard Creek opened the season with a stunning 26-6 win over the Patriots.  The Charlotte Observer reports that quarterback Marquise Williams, who has verbally committed to play at the University of North Carolina threw for 205 yards and two touchdown, plus rushed for 141 yards and two scores.
