High school football is underway in the Tar Heel State. As always, the Charlotte Observer is all over the high school game that opened across the state on Saturday giving teams three weeks to prepare for the August 21 weekend openers.

The Observer begins its 2009 coverage with a look at four of the top quarterbacks in the Charlotte area...Mallard Creek junior Marquise Williams, Butler junior Christian LeMay, Weddington senior Anthony Boone and Independence senior Anthony Carrothers.
